The arrival at le Spa dans le Noir in Paris…

In the street, on the 65th, you will see the front shop which introduces you different types of body cares you can receive here. But also the fact that it is in the dark. Ring and wait ; someone is going to open the door.

Welcome in the reception of the spa ! Sit down in the delicious couch and cosy armchairs while you are waiting your rendez-vous. Drink a tea and start to relax… The interior decoration emphasizes the zen side of the establishment, and the warm and friendly welcome makes you feel easily comfortable. Just wait your practitioner and climb up stairs to start your trip ! Let me tell you my wellness moment at le Spa dans le Noir in Paris…

Up to the first floor, in the total dark, I go to the locker room (which is lighted) where I choose a locker to put my clothes and bag and slip into my swimsuit. You can find everything you need for your beauty: a hairdryer, a little heating system you can control, a sink and a little cup where you put your locker’s key. (You won’t loose it so). Then, take your toils and the cup, go outside in the dark corridor where your practitioner is waiting you. Take his/her hand and let yourself be led to different rooms where you can receive your body cares. You can choose for example the exfoliant skin with black soap, the hammam or massages alone or with a friend…

For me, today, it is a hammam and a massage Paris, during an hour.

The hammam in Paris at Le Spa dans le Noir

I let myself be led in the dark by my practitioner to a room, where I can find two showers and two doors. Behind the door on the left, the exfoliant skin room.

Behind the right door, the hammam. It is lighted by very subdued light because of security terms, but the atmosphere is still so dark. You can use the little shower inside to refresh yourself if you need, directly in the hammam. Little lights on the ceiling plunge you into a warm wellness universe, as if we travel to space.

I really loved the essential oil of eucalyptus, which is diffused with the water steam. It cleared my breathing and purified my lungs, eased my head ache and so relax all my muscles, one by one. After 30 minutes of hammam, I am twice as much calm than usually. In the middle of the body care, my practitioner brought me a large drink of cold water. It contrasted with the wet and warm atmosphere of the room.

So, after the 30 minutes, my practitioner comes back and suggests doing a shower to me to prepare myself for massage. The establishment supplies you soaps and shampoo, and you can choose almond or coconut flavor. I am in love with almonds so my choice was really easy to make 😉

Once washed and dried, I meet my practitioner and let myself be led to the second step: the massage room.

The customized massage of Le Spa dans le Noir

I come into one of the massage rooms. When you come to receive a massage with a partner, a curtain is opened to show a second table of massage. Others rooms are exclusively booked for couple massage, and tables are more closed.

Massages are customized ; indeed, you can choose two body parts to get rubbed. Back and arms, arms and legs, back and legs… I chose this day back and scalp, to stop my stress and my muscular tightness.
This is a heating table to raise the comfort, and you can choose the intensity of your massage but also the smelt of your massage oil. I chose Monoi, traditional but efficient. It smells so good…

My practitioner gives me a large toil and all I need, explain me how to lay on the table and ask me if I desire being rubbed in total dark or with subdued light. Of course, I played the game and I chose total dark…

Cut off the rest of the world, off the noisy and living life of Paris, with a zen background music, blind, I was much more receptive to body cares from le Spa dans le Noir. I heard softly my practitioner who was moving all around the table, without knowing exactly where she was. I just let her take care of me, rub me to finally feel my tensions going far away.

Finally, when it ended, I had to stretch all my body before getting up, and took back my cup, and my swimsuit. I went out of the room and let myself be led to the locker room to put my clothes on, and went back to the reception.

My feelings about Le Spa dans le Noir

I loved so much the idea ! First of all, about the human side, because le Spa dans le Noir employs non-sighted or bad-sighted who received a total training before. But also about a comfortable side, because I went out completely cool and satisfied with my cares. Anyway, I felt all the effects we must feel during a spa !
Furthermore, because I am shy and little bit modest, I was really fine thanks to the total dark. I was not afraid to do weird features while relaxing, and to be nude on a table. I let my other senses come up and especially about the sense of touch. I think that I felt more the massage.

That’s why I strongly recommend Le Spa dans le Noir to you. Whatever the occasion, going with your partner, a friend, a gift to offer or your own pleasure, this is the perfect place to spend good time and relax. In addition to this, prices are affordable for Paris, and this is a new experiment.
